Parks
Nearly 1,000 acres of verdant parkland and open spaces provide an array of recreational opportunities. The Division of Parks maintains 14 developed and 3 undeveloped parks with extensive facilities for tennis, basketball, handball, soccer and baseball. Playgrounds, nature trails and lakes and rivers for fishing and boating complete a well-rounded system that beckons young and old alike to enjoy rest and recreation close to home.
SHADE TREE PROGRAM
Tree-lined streets give character and serenity to East Brunswick's suburban
neighborhoods. Their natural beauty is maintained and enhanced by the
comprehensive Shade Tree Program managed by the Division of Parks.
More than 30,000 street-side trees are cared for by expert crews, who prune and
plant trees as well as remove hazardous ones.
Since 1979, East Brunswick has been named a "Tree City USA" annually
by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
