SUMMER DAY CAMP AND CHILDREN’S SUMMER THEATER

The East Brunswick Township Summer Day Camp is a coed day camp serving children ages 4 –16.  The camp provides a variety of experiences that support social and physical growth in an environment in which children can play, learn and grow.  The campers are able to develop social skills and self confidence by promoting sportsmanship, emphasizing teamwork, teaching responsibility, and building self esteem. The Summer Day Camp program stimulates exploration and adventure through individual and group activities while developing insight into cooperation and decision making.  Swimming, trips, sports, arts and crafts, games and creative activities promote an exhilarating summer for each camper.

The East Brunswick Township Day Camp Program is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) which recognizes camps for providing quality programming with the health and safety of campers and staff in the forefront.  Standards established by ACA provide guidelines for policies, procedures, and practices as well as education and evaluation to ensure the ongoing challenging and nurturing aspects of the program.

A summer camp postcard reminder is mailed annually to all residents in late December detailing the upcoming summer camp season.  Watch your mail for this important document!

Children’s Summer Theater, currently in its 48th year, is a six week program designed solely for those children genuinely interested in performing on stage or working in the technical aspects of a theater production.  Rehearsals are held Monday through Thursday with performances presented every Friday morning.

Children’s Summer Theater boasts two prestigious awards:  The National Recreation & Park Association-Dorothy Mullen Arts and Humanity Award and the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association-Excellence in Programming.
